A jobs page is like an online dating profile. To attract the right people for the right reasons, brag a little, be clear about what’s important to you, and most importantly, be yourself.
When re-designing Invisible Children’s jobs page, we had a few primary goals. To modernize the design, cut the copy way back, and highlight the culture of Invisible Children.
One of our challenges in designing this page was to appeal to the college students and recent grads who represent the majority of our interns and roadies, while still attracting experienced candidates for the staff positions.
To address that challenge, we defined the three types of positions up front. To staff and interns we appealed to the meaning behind our work and the talented people on the team. To Roadies we highlighted the adventure of life on the road.
